When I awoke this morning we were motoring along trying to round the boot of Italy and make our way north to Venice. So we had no port of call scheduled for today and had the entire day to amuse ourselves on the Serenade of the Seas.
I started out with a work out and a late breakfast. Then it was on to a presentation in one of the theaters where a lady gave us a talk on the next three stops we would be making in Italy and Croatia.
Then it was on to a hamburger stand where everyone met for lunch. For some unexplainable reasons it was thought that having a fast food lunch would be a nice change of pace from all of the fine dining we had been doing both on board and off. It wasn’t. It was fried fast food that is available on every street corner in the US.
After that there were various games of chance tournaments being held and various people tried their luck at that. Not being much of a gambler I merely observed. I did have a free pull on a slot machine and I won a key chain. Woohoo. I gave it to a guy who I sat next to in the bingo parlor. He wasn’t having much luck so I thought he deserved something for his troubles.
We all met for drinks in the Schooner bar and then on to dinner. We ended up back in the casino after dinner for some more gambling until it was time to head up to bed. It was a relaxing day and one that was needed by everyone.
